Podcasts for Public

"By the people, for the people"

President Abraham Lincoln wasn’t talking about the value of podcasting with his famous line from the Gettysburg Address. But he could have been.

Podcasts are effective messages, presented by real people, for real people. Important messages. News for and from the public.

Lincoln used his personal presence to connect with his audience. Video podcasts enable modern day public servants to create that same presence. Whether it’s news from the state and federal government, notices from public agencies, lectures or training from local schools and universities, or effective responses in the political arena, podcasting enables you, or anyone in the public, to virtually site face-to-face with your audience.

Never before has such a powerful tool existed enabling anyone to connect with the community in which they live, no matter how large or small. Not just video but video delivered when you need to deliver it and when your audience needs to get it. Townships can send the same immediate and quality messages as the federal government. A candidate for county office can utilize the same powerful video tools as a candidate for governor. University professors can share their lectures with the students in their classroom on campus as well as students on the far reaches of the country. Legislators can focus on local issues that the news media would never pick up, yet mean everything to the people impacted by that issue. Lincoln may not have used podcasts to effectively reach the masses, but you can!
