So much of what you need to know about medical trends and breakthroughs focuses on technical and other tangible aspects of the profession. So much so that we might not fully appreciate an equal if not more important factor - the dissemination of all this knowledge. Indeed, if the rapidly updated information in the medical field is ineffectively communicated, that information is effectively inert. Sadly, not all the news and information needed by groups and individuals are delivered well if delivered at all. You already know that much of the valuable information you get is purely by accident. Thankfully, today podcasting has become a near perfect medium for both sender and recipient for communicating the many vital messages needed in the medical field.
Sources of news and information such as research facilities, schools and hospitals, medical device makers, pharmaceutical companies, and book publishers are among the hundreds of companies and organizations who need to send their messages quickly and dynamically. Likewise, those companies and organizations also need to receive news and information from others.
Dependence on traditional media and even certain modern media such as webinars, banners, and email arrives in such volume they are often ignored. They also have a number of limitations including high media cost, slow delivery, limited payload and a high chance that the message is blocked, lost or discarded.
Also, email cannot deliver a video file of decent quality or duration. Print as well as broadcast media requires content creation usually requiring a third party. Then there is the always-increasing cost of the media itself. Trade magazines, newsletters and brochures require weeks if not months of lead-time.
On the other hand, podcasting, especially video podcasting, has the advantage of very low cost, near instant delivery, virtually unlimited payload and near 100% reach. Podcast costs are limited only to those of production because the medium, the Internet, is free. Podcasts travel and are delivered at the speed of the Internet. A video podcast is not limited in either quality or length. And because you know who your audience is and your audience wants and needs your messages, their subscription assures they get the message within moments that you post it. The technology is proven and podcasting is already mainstream.
If you are entirely delighted with your communication media mix, you probably already are podcasting. If not, consider the many ways you can satisfy your communications needs faster, cheaper, and far more effectively with video podcasting.
''Podcasting has become one of the most important ways to deliver information because it is so pervasive."
