Tips on how to present your best |

Preparing your delivery
The audience to which you are speaking can be investors and prospective investors, business partners, and new and established customers. Consider the many types of audiences you are addressing but select one.
Focus your delivery to one point. You want to present viewers with a clear and concise message that covers that point.
Style of delivery
Depends on you. Some presenters feel comfortable looking directly into the camera. This is an effective style for job seekers who want to speak directly to hiring managers. In some cases an implied or virtual interviewer sits just off camera and you respond to questions and comments that you prepare ahead of time. This is the style we strongly suggest. Prepare no more than 4 questions and we will prompt you. Some suggestions include:
- What does my company do?
- What is my company’s unique selling proposition?
- Why should anyone care?
- What is it that I want my viewer to do?
Avoid memorizing a script. Unless you’re a trained actor, you will be far more comfortable and present more naturally |
and effectively by speaking as you would to any interested party. Remember that we edit a smooth and flowing video and that the “ahs” and stumbles are deleted. We are scheduling enough time for you to “get it right”.
How to dress and groom
We are shooting a “talking head” format. You will be standing or seated on a stool and the viewer’s viewpoint will include your head and torso. Your dress and personal presentation reflects your brand. Thusly, you want to present yourself appropriately. To look your best in video, pastels work nicely. Clothing colors such as white and stark black typically don’t work well. Neither do tight patterns and pinstripes. Avoid dangly and overly conspicuous jewelry -- it distracts the viewer. Hair should be styled so that it doesn’t cover eyes.
B-roll requirements (extra charge option)
For the shoot, we accept your still images. We prefer high-resolution photos in .jpg format or graphics in a vector-based format such as Illustrator. We will accept your existing video if it is in 16:9 aspect ratio and at least 1280X768 resolution.
